Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

The foggy weather is upon the Central Valley and especially in the great community of Easton. In order to provide as much safety as possible, Washington Unified School District will run “Foggy Day Schedules”. As we attempt to maximize available instructional time, as well as meet the minimum required number of instructional minutes mandated by state law, safety continues to be our main concern.

There are a number of resources for families and students to access as a means to be made aware if Washington Union High School is on a Foggy Day Schedule, and can be found within the following:

1) Our district website has a Foggy Day icon with an updated Google Sheet every five minutes where parents/guardians, students and teachers can find if we are currently on a Foggy Day Schedule.

2) Foggy Day App for iPhones and Smart Phones https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/foggy-day/id411793593?mt=8

3) PBS on TV (Channel 18) or their website http://valleypbs.org/foggy-day/

4) Southwest Transportation (District bus service) http://www.southwestjpa.org/?q=node/19

Foggy Day Schedules are as follows:

Plan A- 2 hour delay (Buses will run two hours behind the regular scheduled stop time)

Example: If your son/daughter’s bus route has a regularly scheduled pick up time of 7:10 a.m.;  the bus will arrive at 9:10 a.m. to take them to school.

Plan B- 3 hour delay (Buses will run three hours behind the regular scheduled stop time)

Example: If your son/daughter’s bus route has a regularly scheduled pick up time of 7:10 a.m.; the bus will arrive at 10:10 a.m. to take them to school.

Plan C- No bus routes will run and school and school will begin at 11:10 a.m.

Students who arrive early on campus will attend mandatory tutorial classes depending on the daily schedule of their odd/even classes with their teachers.
