Greetings Parents and Families of Washington Union High School:

My name is Ryan Stockton and I’m extremely happy to join the staff in the Panther Academy this year as Learning Director! The Panther Academy is very passionate about our students and we look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality junior and senior school year. As a staff, the Panther Academy recognizes the importance of a strong home-school connection. With that said our counselors have already begun the process of PREP meetings. It is the Panther Academy’s expectation to meet with every student and we encourage all pan-sepparents to be an active part of those meetings. Parents are every child’s first teacher and we believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s needs are met so they are college and career ready.

The Panther Academy staff has a few new faces as well as ones you will recognize. As you enter the Academy you will be greeted by Ms. Diana Chavez who is the Academy Secretary.

This is her first year at Washington Union. She comes to us with Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Fresno State University. In addition to her role as the Panther Academy secretary she has just signed up to teach guitar lessons in the After School Program!

Another new member of the Panther Academy is Ms. Jaycee Hines who is filling the role as the Junior Class Intervention Specialist. Ms. Hines was a Washington Union graduate and comes to us from West Fresno Middle School where she was also an Intervention Specialist. Her hard work and dedication to our students and community make her a great addition to the Panther Academy.

Returning we have Mr. Fredy Gomez as the Senior Class Intervention Specialist and Servant Leadership Advisor, Ms. Christina Romero school nurse, and of course Ms. Erika Ramirez and Mr. Michael Toste return as junior and senior counselors respectively.

The Panther Academy would like to ask you to please take advantage of the formal and informal opportunities that you will have this year to become involved at Washington Union High School. Our team is excited about this school year and serving our students.

I hope you and your family have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer.  Please don’t hesitate to contact the Panther Academy if you have any questions or concerns and we look forward to meeting you!
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families!

Sincerely,

Ryan Stockton

Panther Academy Learning Director
