Freshmen Academy News

Welcome to Washington Union High School!  As you and your student enter into this important first year of high school, we want to invite you to feel free to communicate with us as you see necessary.  We are all in this exciting journey together as we prepare the Class of 2020 for their chance to have a positive impact on our world.

Freshmen Orientation

Freshmen Orientation took place Monday, August 8th.  Over 250 of our Freshmen attended this event that was led by our Link Crew with the goal of introducing the Class of 2020 to their new home for the next 4 years.  Our freshmen participated in relationship building activities and toured the beautiful new WUHS campus.  They also were able to get their class schedule, take their I.D. picture, and eat food that was barbecued by some of our Link Crew Coordinators.  The new incoming freshmen class left with excitement and anticipation for the new school year to start.

Freshmen know their STANCE!

DurFA Stanceing the first two weeks of school the Class of 2
020 was introduced to the Freshmen STANCE!  Expectations were
communicated in every 9th grade English class to prepare our Freshmen
to be successful learners.

The Freshmen Academy has very high expectations for our incoming class.  We expect our Freshmen to be responsible for their own learning by being in their “STANCE.”
