Washington Union has a policy where students can be placed on a Non-Privilege List for various reasons. Below documents the infractions and activities that can result in a student being placed on the Non-Privilege List and consequently not be able to participate in certain activities. Please contact your child’s Academy Director if you have any questions regarding this policy.
Non-Privilege List Breakdown Grades 9-12
Non-Privilege Actions
- Grades
- Below 2.0 gpa
- Grades Checked and updated every 3 weeks
- Attendance
- Below 90%
- Attendance checked and updated weekly
- Detentions
- 10 or more detentions
- Detentions checked and updated daily
- Behavior
- Students on suspension or other disciplinary actions
- Checked and updated based on student involvement
Non-Privilege Consequences/Check Process
Students who are on the Non-Privilege list may not be allowed to attend the following:
- School Dances
- List of Non-Privilege List will be given to Activities Director for reference check the day before event by Administration
- School Field Trips
- Group Organizer of each Field Trip will be responsible for submitting a list of potential students who will be attending the field trip to Administration at least 1 week prior to event
- Off campus Lunch Privileges
- Each academy will be responsible for communicating with students about taking away their privilege to be off-campus during lunch
