Expanded Learning Program (ASP)

Program Overview

The Washington Union High School Expanded Learning Program (ELP) is offered at no cost to all students in grades 9–12. In accordance with Assembly Bill 1567, priority enrollment is granted to students identified as homeless or foster youth. Families who wish to self-certify their child’s eligibility are encouraged to inform the program staff.

The ELP operates Monday through Friday from 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and provides a free daily snack for all participants.

Program Features
Students benefit from daily academic support, including homework assistance in core subject areas. In addition, the program offers rotating enrichment opportunities such as:

  • Career exploration and mentoring

  • Tutoring

  • Visual and performing arts

  • Technology and computer training

  • Intramural sports and fitness activities
