The WUHS Academic Decathlon team won the first place title for Division IV.  Competition was tough this year, as the teams studied “Africa” and competed in multiple events testing their knowledge of the continent in the areas of economics, literature, music, math, social science, and science.

In addition to an overall team award, the following students earned individual medals:

Trinity Najera- 4 Medals: Essay, Interview, Literature and Speech

Kevin Zamora- 4 Medals: Art, Economics, Interview and Music

Erica Barrera- 2 Medals: Essay and History

Lily Serna- 7 Medals: Interview, Literature, Music, Science, History, Speech and Coach’s Award
